But We Have Outgrown
Since 1887 the Eugene Family YMCA’s impact has been demonstrated in our consistent growth, our ability to sustain operations for more than a century and the reach of our programs and services. We’re building more than just a new building, we’re building the foundation to continue our 130 year legacy of serving the needs of Lane County.
Since our current facility on Patterson was constructed nearly 60 years ago, the Y has responded to the changing demands of our local community. Those years of flexibility and responsiveness have served us well, but our walls can no longer accommodate our growth. Today's Y is about more than a new building, we’re building the foundation to continue our 130-year legacy of serving the needs of Lane County, Oregon.
"I was shocked when my doctor told me I was pre-diabetic—I'm not your typical candidate. Without the Y, I couldn't have turned this around; the Y saved my life no doubt."
– Jessie Pileggi, DPP Participant
In 2016, the Eugene Family YMCA awarded more than $700,000 in financial assistance to the local community to ensure that no one is ever turned away from the Y for an inability to pay.
130 Years of Caring
The Eugene Family YMCA has a long history of responding to the needs of Lane County's children, families, adults and seniors. Since 1887, we have been building community — and that's a lot of history. Through world wars, two depressions, civil rights and much more, the Y in Eugene has stood the test of time.
